Birthdays
Carter was invited to a couple of birthday parties a few weeks ago. The first one was Hunter's karate birthday party as you can see it was all boy with a few girls thrown in! He  had a great time. They even used a ninja sword to cut the cake! The next one was Ava's party with a piñata and cupcakes! Carter didn't want to leave her new house! A real party animal!!!

It's Dress Up Day!!
Today at Carter's school it is dress up day. The choice was between pirate or Musketeer. He chose Musketeer......last night! So this is the costume I was able to put together in about an hour or so. He really gives it flare! The hat is his old cowboy hat from Grandpa Keith. The plume is a cut straw with several layers of tissue paper cut like a feather and taped to the band with invisible tape. The vest is his old paint shirt with permanent marker to make the designs and the sleeves and neck cut out. Then we remembered that he had a cape from his Darth Vader costume that would add more pizzaz, and voila! He was the only one dressed as a Musketeer but two other pirates showed up in his class: Oliver and I think it was Juan. This is all in preparation for Movie Night tonight, they are playing Puss n Boots! It will be a blast as the kids all sit on the MPR floor on blankets and pillows and have a grand time. Just let us know if you are interested in coming to one of them. The parent group has them monthly and they are free, but they do sell snacks to fund raise. All for one and one for all!!!

Our Mammoth Ski Trip
The best one yet in spite of the sickness that spread! We are incredibly lucky to have fun like this with family and friends. Thank you to Paul & Deanna, Grandma Vivian & Grandpa Jim, Pep, David and Carter! Live to all!

Alabama Hills
Here is carter climbing in the Alabama Hills. He deemed these rocks the best for climbing and playing! We also started planning a hiking trip to Mt. Whitney, which you can see in the back drop of the last picture! So beautiful! Can't wait!

It is "Happy 100th School Day" day!!! Carter and his class made hats to celebrate and commemorate this great day! And here I thought he made me a Best Mom Tiara!!!Carter and his most awesome Kinder Class!! We love Mrs. French and all who contribute to Carter's growth!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! This morning Carter drew this and many other clever drawings, but this one was appropriate for the holiday centered around the meat dish! He admitted that this could be Aunt Amanda or Uncle Jonathan! 

So here is in hopes that we all count our blessings today (that we are not at the other end of the gun!) and every other day of the year!

Carter and Mrs. French

Carter was so excited that his Kindergarten teacher was at his Papa's
board meeting! He promised to sit still if he could sit with her (she
had offered to let him if I said ok). He was so good! He sat quiet and
listened to the meeting for nearly an hour!

He loves her so much and tells me how she used to ride her horse near
our house when she was younger. I am so glad that he likes her and
feels like he can talk with her.

We pray for her all the time as she teaches Carter and all his
classmates. Thank you Mrs. French for all that you do!

I Like Me.

Carter wrote this great statement of self confidence on the back porch
of his own accord. I love that he even added the correct
punctuation!!!

Carter's first day of Kindergarten.....

Today was the day! Carter went off to Kindergarten this morning! David
took him in and currently reported that minus slamming his finger in
the door on the way in he had a smooth transition. Although David says
I can't look forward to any smiling photos except this one taken
earlier before I left for work. Apparently Carter would not give up a
smile for anything. I am expecting a full report of events when I get
home tonight. I heard he was happy to see Alexis and Hunter.

His teacher's name is Mrs. French and his Principal's name is Mr. Scott Husman.

Carter told me this morning that some boys in the bathroom asked them
if they were brothers and neither of them denied that they were
bothers!!! He looked so sheepish when he told me but there was a huge
grin on his face. I think he really enjoyed him self!! Thank You!

God's Gifts

The beauty of God's creations takes me by surprise and reminds me of the complexity of our existence. How lucky we are not to have to fully understand it all in order to reap it's benefits! How great Thou art!

My favorite kind of clouds

The darkest night is sometimes the bridge to the brightest tomorrow.

On my way to work this was the beautiful sight I was greeted with! It definitely brightened my spirits and lifted my soul!

God is so great everyday to us and I thank Him for all the blessings He has given me in my life!

Let The Camping Begin!!!

We are nearly there! Exactly where we're going, I'm not sure, but we are close!!! We had to first get pulled over by the Arizona Highway Patrol to check our tint to make sure we were not too dark! Loved all the red rocks through the gorge below St. George...my favorite!!!

The Jail of Shame

Carter locked Wrench up in the Jail of Shame today. Not just any old
jail....it was The Jail of Shame!!!!!

While we were in the truck waiting to get into the cemetery to visit
Papa's grave for Memorial Day Carter wrote ALL these numbers!!! He
isn't even in Kindergarten!!! I am sooo proud!!!
