Debate: Is Carter from the Zoo or Mama's Tummy?

Carter has decided that my story of how I got him at the zoo makes no sense. The real story of how he got here thru mama's tummy, even tho he don't remember it makes more sense.

Papa's Little Helper

Carter and I just left home depot and he was helping me put things in the truck. A man smiled and said you have a great little helper there. Carter said "Actually, I am not his helper, we are buckaroos!

Mama. Do You Know Everything?

Yesterday, Carter was laying on the couch just thinking and he asks me:
"Mama, do you know everything?"

I think about it and I tell him
"No. You will find as you get older and older that you learn new things everyday. No, Carter I don't know everything."

He thinks a bit longer and then asks me another question:
"Mama, do you know where I will meet my wife?"

I smiled and came over to him and knelt down and told him:
"No, Carter, Mama doesn't know where you will meet your wife, but I can tell you that it will most likely be in the place you least expect to find her!"

Wow! What deep thoughts are running through his brain already! I am continually amazed!

Carter on Rocks

A few of Carter's quotes from April 17, 2008:

"I caught rocks at the rock show!"

"Look at my nice pretty rocks!"

"Thanks for buying my rocks!"

"Look at my rocks! Let's play with them!"

Carter was just two years three month old!

As The Wise Philosopher Jagger Once Said.......

Not too long ago Wendy and Carter and I went to Target. We went into the bathroom and when Carter was done he was headed to the sink to wash his hands and was demanding to be picked up so he could reach the soap dispencer. Instead of picking him up I just got some of the soap in my hand and put it into his. At this I heard him slowly start to sing "You can't always get what you want"!!!!
You see Papa has been teaching Carter about the wise philosopher Jagger...... "and if you try sometimes, you might just find, you get what you need!"

A Look Back.....As We Move Forward!

Yesterday Papa told me that you thought it was taking you too long to grow up.....you told him that you wanted to by 5 already. My heart skipped a beat thinking just how fast time has flown by since your little feet and hands joined our little family together. You have brought us so much joy and love and continue to amaze me with each passing day. You proceeded to tell Papa that after you turned 5 years old, you then wanted to be a grown up like him. I told him to tell you not to grow too fast....I think he had already told you this by then.

Now I am looking back at this day here when you were just a little squirt, barely able to walk. All excited about your first surfing adventure on the end of the board. You were and still are just starting on so many new adventures. I want you to always be adventurous and not afraid to step out and try new things (within reason of course!). But I also know that you will have days that are discouraging, as we all do, and I want to you to be triumphant in how you handle these as well. So, I say the rest of this more for you and for anyone who thinks they can use it:

I was thinking just how crazy fast our lives move and there are days that seem to be so long and hard. If we are able to look at these tough time from a new perspective it may reveal a whole new understanding and appreciation of what we have. Just remember when you are going day to day and living the mundane part of your life, try to look from another perspective before you let yourself get too down about the difficulties you are going through. As I have heard from many patients I see, "I thought my life was bad until I sat out in your waiting room and watched several other people walk in who looked like they had it worse than me". These people were blessed with a new way of looking at their experience in life and were now able to see with new eyes what they couldn't see before. I know that you will be able to step outside your own shoes and see the what I mean because I have seen you do it already.....You have a wonderfully compassionate heart. Just remember, we all have numerous things to be thankful for and the first is the breath we just took! I love you so much!

My Little Hustler

Carter did this puzzle today but I want to tell a story about what he told me yesterday.....

Last night Carter was telling me that Miss Jeneva (daycare mommy and Kaylee's mom) taught him the meaning of the word - hustle! He said that she taught him that it means to move fast and hurry. He said she taught it to him when they were coming from pre-school to daycare one day. Then he told me that he was a "real hustler" and he is very good at it. He even said he moves "lightening fast"!

Halloween Chucky by Carter Keith McCabe

These are all of the dark side stuff. There are weapons over here and bad guys are trying to make this town into theirs. They have weapons and knives. Two guys have knives who are trying to kill the good guys. But the good guys are too late! So the bad guys couldn't find the good guys. They said Where are they? But they couldn't find them even though they looked for them! The bad guys used all their weapons. They had guns and fire and tube power. And the lights fell off the roof and all the town became dark! Then the good guys came back and the bad guys killed the good guys and made it their town.

There were knives on the top of the roof. Then there was this poomer gun and it went pbbbbttttt (like a rasberry)! Then the poomer gun exploded and then it came back and the dark side guys shot it again! Then the knives fell down on the floor still together. Then they had to lock the good guys up in a trap in the jail. Just two bad guys locked two good guys in the two traps with one big lock and one little lock! They all had a rock and threw it out of the cage and it hit the wires! The wires helped power the bad guys. The wires were gone and then they came back by the bad guys. Then there was fire and then the guns got all fiery and the bad guys got all burn and everything got burned. So in the end the good guys won and recaptured their town.

Carter Shares Mr. Squarepants with Nana

This is Mr. Squarepants, the scarecrow that he made at school this fall. He was his car buddy who rode in the car for weeks right next to his car seat.
David finally had enough when early one morning he went to get something out of his truck and he saw a figure slumped over in the back seat of the car. He nearly had a heart attack thinking that we had left Carter in the car all night long! Fortunately it was Mr. Squarepants and not Carter! It took him a bit to realize this though and this is when Mr. Squarepants could not ride in the car anymore.
