We attended a party last night at Paul and Deanna's house.
When fast is too fast you need to take time to remember the moments of love and joy. Here is my "time out" for those who are intricately woven into my soul, my life.

Cats Have the Life . . .
Did you know that?? I love that people indulge their cats even in downtown St. Petersburg, Russia. The general perception of Russians usually does not include such thoughts about cats, but it is nice to know that people are down to earth everywhere on this planet!

Our Spikey Haired Drummer Boy goes to see Dr. Clark
The Boy really has rhythm! These are the drums that Grandma Vivian gave him - talk about recycling! He uses them more than daily - frequently asking us to join in the fun!
Today he went to see Dr. Clark for his Well-Baby Check up. He is becoming such a big boy. We got there a little early (about an hour) because my work let me out early. So while we waited in the waiting room he learned about the ocean drawings on the walls. He already calls fishes "Nemos", so he was pointing all of those out. He learned kelp, but his version sounds more like "help". He learned algae and then called the algae that the clown fish were swimming in a "house" like the one in movie Nemo! He made several friends, but was attracted to all the babies that came in and would go over to them and point out the big dolphin to them that was painted on the wall. He also found great joy in turning the lights on and off in all the rooms.
The ladies in the office gave him a sticker when we went in to go to the bathroom and he came out and told everyone in the waiting room "I got a sticker" several times. I totally thought he would say sticker, but not a whole sentence like that! Talk about shock.
Of course he loved his visit with Dr. Clark as always (lucky she doesn't have to do the shots!). He gave her a picture of himself holding a guitar on a pony in black and white that he signed on the back - which she loved. He even told her he was holding a "guitar". She gave him a "sparkle ball" that he played with for at least 10 min in the room while we were waiting for his shots. Of course the dreaded time had to come and he cried with a new sense of "you are hurting me" pain, but as I packed him up to leave and we walked through the door, something clicked and he urgently said "back! back!". When I asked him why he wanted to go back, he said "away, away, sparkle ball, away"! He felt that he needed to go back and put the sparkle ball back in the bin that she kept it in! Can you believe that? I had to set him down outside and explain to him that Dr. Clark gave him the sparkle ball because he was such a big boy and was brave getting his shots. After that he didn't cry anymore! Wow! He is just putting it all together!
Well, I am sure I could tell you tons more, but I am beat and need to get some sleep! Blog you later!

Our Dear Friend
This is a night I remember a dear friend of ours. We miss you Bryan. We wish you were here to share in all of our lives. We will never be the same without you. There have been many times when we wish you were around to share in the memories we are making. Some times it is hard to really believe that all this happened. You were always destined to do so much more good. I only wish you did not have so much pain. I hope that you have found your peace. So on this one year anniversary of our loss, I just say that we all miss you, again today.

Our Little Family
This is the picture I wanted to put up first, but I had a hard time getting it into the blog. Well, that just gave me a little time to brighten it up a bit. It was kinda dark and hard to see. I was just thinking how I hadn't been to the Long Beach Aquarium for almost 6 years (5 1/2 if you want to be picky). That was on my 30th birthday! Wow! Time does fly when you are having fun. As you guessed, the day flew by too and I don't know how all this time has passed. Hmmm. What a beautiful little family!
Well, I must go to bed! Blog you later!

Our Little Drummer Boy
He was lucky to be able to play these drums while visiting the Clark's one Saturday afternoon. As you can see he took to it like a duck to water - he even was able to step on the pedal for activating the big base drum!
Just look at the tongue of concentration!!!
My Guys . . . Gotta Love'em!
Although this picture was taken back in September, I thought that it needed to be displayed. Both are showing expressions that I love. We were over having dinner at Paul and Deanna's house and Carter had just finished running through the sprinklers. Papa caught Boo up and had been throwing him up in the air - what great excitement makes for great expressions!

All the new things - hair cut, wearing Papa's John Deer hat, getting a new bike, and hugging Cricket
Again, time is flying by. I have so much to include but not the time to sit and tell it. I will do my best for this post.
You will see that he is sporting a new hair cut in the 1st picture. He now resembles the rest of the McCabe Clan with the short buzz cut (except for his Papa, as many of you know he now has grown his hair). He was having a great time with the sunglasses. By the way, he regularly says Papa's glasses and sunglasses.
The next picture shows him borrowing Papa's John Deer hat and wearing it backwards too - just like Papa. These days it is hard to top Papa. He is the model for this little guy.
The next photo show him on the bike that Grandma Vivian and Papa Jim got for him. Oh how he loves it, although he still has not figured out the pedaling just yet.
The last photo is of him and Cricket. This is self explanatory. The love he has for him is great. It only helps that he is wearing a cowboy hat - it enhances the cute factor!
Well, until the next post - Joi de vie!
